Habitat: Eastern deciduous forest & tallgrass prairie

Season: July-September

Active Chemical Ingredient: Allantoin (C₄H₆N₄O₃) supports cell-growth.

Uses: Boneset can be used to speed up the healing process of a broken bone. The plant also has pain-reducing properties.

Preparation: Make a hot tea out of the leaves and root or make a "cast" out of damp leaf pulp and apply it to the skin, allowing for it to dry.
